Dubai has signed a landmark agreement with Masdar City allowing companies in select UAE free zones to purchase freehold property in the emirate. This is a significant shift for foreign-owned firms, many of which previously faced restrictions on direct property ownership.

The agreement introduces a digital registration system and simplified legal processes, making it easier for foreign entrepreneurs to establish a long-term presence in Dubai. It complements broader reforms like the One Free Zone Passport, allowing seamless operations across zones, and the First-Time Home Buyer initiative, which supports new entrants to the market.

The change forms part of Dubai’s Real Estate Strategy 2033 and reflects the city’s commitment to creating a globally competitive, investor-friendly business environment.
